The Hotel Hohenwart in Schenna is never completely still. Even between the seasons, work continues – albeit at a gentler pace than during peak season. Doris holds the fort in the office and is happy to continue answering your requests personally, whether by phone or email.
At the same time, craftsmen bring renewed life into the hotel. Alongside smaller maintenance works, this Winter we are dedicating special attention to a project close to our hearts: the careful redesign of our Labers rooms in the House Traube.
30 years of Labers – tradition with a future in a South Tyrolean hotel
Hard to believe, but true: our popular Labers family rooms are celebrating their 30th anniversary. Of course, they are no longer exactly as they were in 1996. Over the years, they have been lovingly modernised and adapted to the Hohenwart concept – from air conditioning and new bathrooms to carefully selected furnishings curated by Ms Christine.
One thing, however, has deliberately remained: the beautiful South Tyrolean solid wood furniture that has always defined the character of the Labers rooms and the Hohenwart architecture. These pieces have become part of our identity – cherished, iconic and unmistakably Hohenwart.
This Winter, they receive a gentle touch-up: our local carpenter from Dorf Tirol restores their natural beauty, allowing them to blend harmoniously into the updated room and lighting design – contemporary, warm and with that familiar retro charm our guests so appreciate, and which forms an integral part of our South Tyrolean hotel philosophy.
The result is the new, spacious Labers Junior Suites – a harmonious combination of South Tyrolean tradition, modern comfort and sustainable architecture in South Tyrol. Not everything has to be brand new; sometimes, it is enough to thoughtfully reinterpret what already works well. As Mr Mair senior once wisely said: “Those who do not move with the times are moved by time.”
