The culinary delights at Hohenwart

Quality you can taste

MODERN AND CREATIVE, ALPINE-MEDITERRANEAN CUISINE

If you ask us, taste is one of the most beautiful ways to discover a holiday destination. The Alpine region in particular is a paradise for gourmets. At our gourmet hotel near Meran in South Tyrol, we serve the very best of Alpine and Mediterranean cuisine, while also embracing new creations. To accompany these delights, you will find fine selections from our wine cellar.

Well cared for

It all began with coffee and cake, the Hohenwart Marende. Today, we offer ¾ board in South Tyrol, with breakfast, afternoon Marende and a gourmet dinner.

Regional & homemade

Our ingredients come from the immediate surroundings or even from our own production, from our mountain farm Gsteier and our Pfefferlechner brewery.

A fine glass

For every occasion, our sommelier selects just the right choice from the wine cellar. Enjoy the wines with your menu or during a tasting.

What makes a great dish? The finest ingredients, a distinctive presentation and a touch of magic.

How it all began

At a glance

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT OUR CUISINE

What cuisine is served at Hohenwart?

At our gourmet hotel in South Tyrol, we primarily prepare specialities from Alpine and Mediterranean cuisine. You will find both classics from South Tyrolean, as well as Italian and international cuisine. It is precisely this mix that makes South Tyrol so appealing for gourmets. New combinations and preparation methods continually create new and surprising taste experiences.

What dining options are available?

Most guests at Hohenwart choose our ¾ pampering board with a generous breakfast buffet, a delicious afternoon Marende and a first-class gourmet dinner. That way, you won’t miss a single moment of indulgence. Alternatively, you can also book rooms with breakfast only.

Is there a children’s menu?

Our refined dishes are usually enjoyed by all, but upon request, a dedicated children’s menu is also available, gladly even before 7 pm. Breakfast until 11 am is not missed even by late risers, and in the afternoon everyone gathers for coffee and our much-praised cakes.

Where do your ingredients come from?

At our gourmet hotel in South Tyrol, we use regional and seasonal products whenever possible. Some even come from our own agriculture, the Gsteier mountain farm, or from our Pfefferlechner brewery. In this way, we ensure that we not only use the freshest, most delicious and healthiest ingredients, but also support local producers and protect the environment.

Is wine pairing available?

Treat yourself to a fine wine from our wine list with your evening menu. With over 400 labels from regional and international producers, you are sure to find the perfect match – or let our sommelier recommend a hidden gem. During a wine tasting, you can immerse yourself even further in the world of fine flavours. If you would like to explore even more, we also offer olive oil and balsamic tastings.

Can external guests dine with you?

Yes, upon reservation, the restaurant of our gourmet hotel in South Tyrol is also open to external guests. And if you are staying in our Apartments Bachmair in Schenna, you can also enjoy dinner (or all meals) at Hohenwart for an additional charge.
