A feast for the senses: Mrs. Christine shares how she experiences the Merano Music Weeks – and why she’s already so excited for them
The Merano Music Weeks hold a very special place in my heart. Every year I look forward to this concert series with great anticipation – for almost 40 years, it has brought world-class musicians and enthusiastic audiences from across the world to Merano. As a classical music lover, I’m constantly amazed by what is achieved here in South Tyrol: a festival that rivals the great stages of Europe in quality, variety and atmosphere – yet still retains its unique charm and personal character.
What makes the Merano Music Weeks so extraordinary is the combination of outstanding music and deep emotion. Prestigious orchestras such as the Philharmonia Orchestra London and the Dresdner Philharmonie take the stage – alongside innovative ensembles like Abel Selaocoe or the young Quatuor Agate, who captivate with fresh and inspiring interpretations. The programmes are carefully curated – often surprising, always of the highest standard. I love immersing myself in the music – sometimes well-loved classics, sometimes lesser-known gems – and each concert leaves me with new impressions and emotions.
