On December 24, we invite our guests each year to a traditional Christmas celebration in our fireside lounge. Together we welcome Christmas Eve with the reading of festive stories and the singing of traditional carols. After a festive dinner, we walk to Midnight Mass together – a moment of reflection and peace that many of our guests remember for years.

During the days around Christmas, our guests can enjoy the idyllic Winter landscape of the mountains: the snowy scenery invites you to take part in relaxing Winter hikes, guided by our experienced hiking guide Hubert. Not only does Hubert know the most beautiful routes, he also shares fascinating stories about the region. Whether on snowshoes or cleared hiking paths – these tours are an absolute highlight!

New Year’s Eve: A sparkling start to the year in the South Tyrolean mountains

We celebrate New Year’s Eve at Hohenwart with a glamorous evening. The night begins with a shared aperitif (of course with live music), followed by an exquisite gala dinner. Our kitchen team spoils you with delicious creations, turning the evening into a culinary delight. Accompanied by dance music, we celebrate into the night together. At midnight, we gather on our terrace with a glass of South Tyrolean sparkling wine to toast the New Year and admire the fireworks that transform the snowy landscape into a sea of lights. For those still peckish, a midnight buffet with tasty treats awaits.

Winter sports and leisure fun

Close to the Hotel Hohenwart lies the Meran 2000 ski area. With its perfectly groomed slopes and modern lifts, it offers fun for the whole family. Children can join ski courses, where they learn to ski in a playful and safe way. Our hotel’s private ski shuttle takes you directly to the Meran 2000 valley station.

Off the slopes, the Winter hiking trails around Meran 2000 invite you to take scenic walks, while guided snowshoe hikes with Hubert lead you to breathtaking viewpoints and hidden spots. Whether sporty or relaxed, the clear winter air and the calm of the snow-covered landscape bring refreshing relaxation.
