Beyond excursions in my free time, it’s often the small moments during work that stay with me. In the afternoons, when I take photos and videos for our social media channels on the terrace, I notice how guests quietly enjoy those moments: a Hohenwart Spritz in their hand, a slice of cake from Mrs. Mair sen., or simply a peaceful pause.
In the evenings, I work in dinner service and always pause when the sun slowly sets behind the mountains. From the Hohenwart terrace, the sunset is breathtaking – one of the best places to work in Schenna.
Breakfast with a view – starting the day at Hohenwart
Most guests start their day at the Hotel Hohenwart with a hearty breakfast, preferably outdoors on the sunny terrace in the warmer months. For me, the morning and evening hours are the most beautiful moments of the day. In the morning, there’s a calm in the air as the sun rises over the mountains and the day awakens.
In the evening, when everything quiets down, Schenna is the perfect place to relax – for guests and staff alike. I often watch guests plan their next day: some excited for a hike, others happily staying by the pool to enjoy the view. This balance of activity and relaxation is what gives Hohenwart its special charm – and shows how rewarding it is to work in a hotel in South Tyrol where every day feels like a mini holiday.
Above the roofs of Schenna – the saltwater pool at the VistaSpa
A truly special place at Hohenwart is the VistaSpa rooftop terrace. Here, the world seems to pause for a moment, and I always find a new photo opportunity. In the saltwater pool, it’s all about letting go: floating in the water, gazing at the mountains, and taking a deep breath. In the late afternoon, when the light softens and the sun sets behind the peaks, the atmosphere becomes unique – calm, golden, almost magical.
A little wellness goes a long way – why relaxing here is easy
The spa at the Hotel Hohenwart is a peaceful retreat for relaxation for our guests. As I walk through the hotel, I often see people sitting after a massage, breathing deeply and enjoying the moment. It’s impressive how quickly one can escape everyday life here. Moments like these remind me how special it is to work in a wellness hotel in South Tyrol, surrounded by mindfulness, relaxation, and genuine warmth.
